Bikes For Breakfast this Friday Apr. 24th!

BikeCalgary is organizing a free event for Calgary cycle commuters this Friday, April 24th at CAOC, the Calgary Area Outdoor Council (the old fire-hall on Memorial Drive NW just west of the 10 St bridge).
This is a warm-up event for the outdoor festival taking place at CAOC this coming weekend. It's also intended to trick the weather gods into striking their last blow of winter a week early so that the weather can recover and be nice by the time the Bike To Work Day takes place on May 1st. (It seems to have worked!).
Stop by between 6:00 and 9:00 to say 'hi' to BikeCalgary volunteers, and reward yourself with a hot coffee and a bite to eat.
Hopefully the blizzard will be over by then!

Submitted by Paul Stanton on Fri, 2009-04-17 08:59Calgary will hold the third annual Bike to Work Day on Friday May 1, 2009. This annual event is to encourage Calgarians to reduce pollution and traffic congestion, increase exercise and the use of Calgary’s excellent pathway system and marked roadway bicycle lanes by commuting to work by bicycle. Participants will receive free give-a-ways from numerous designated locations and a pancake breakfast at Eau Claire.
In anticipation of Bike to Work Day, a companion event one week earlier called The Suit Pursuit will compare commute times of a car, transit, and a bicycle.
