BikeCalgary AGM Nov. 5th
The BikeCalgary.org annual general meeting will take place on Thursday, November 5th at 19:00 in the conference room at MEC (10th Ave SW at 8 St). All interested persons are welcome to attend. This is your chance to contribute to bike advocacy in Calgary!
To set the stage for the evening's discussions, we've invited Nicole Jensen, from the City's Transportation Solutions department, to speak about upcoming projects for pedestrian and bike transportation in the coming year or two. We may have a couple of other surprises as well.
Current BikeCalgary directors will speak on accomplishments and difficulties in the past year, and describe what they see as the challenges for the year ahead. A couple of the directors are being pulled off to work on other projects, so there is room for you to get involved. We need all kinds of skills to move forward with our vision, which is "connecting Calgary communities through cycling".
So, are you planning to attend? What are your wishes for this coming year?
BikeCalgary is a non-profit society, founded in December 2005 and registered under the Alberta Societies Act in 2008, whose primary objective is to promote the use of the bicycle for transportation in Calgary, whether on pathways or on city streets. The board is composed of seven elected directors, supported by close to 1300 readers registered on the BikeCalgary.org website. At present there is no membership fee for BikeCalgary; we depend entirely on your donations to do our work and run this website. Check the links under Merchandise in the menu at left to see how you can help support our work.
