Need advice on new route.

My work place will be changing this spring sometime, maybe. Anyway, I'm interested in comments about the best route. I have an idea as I used to work close to my new location.

FROM: Braeside (think Southland Leisure Center).
TO: Barlow & 16th NE. Sorta the corner of 26thSt and 14thAve.

PROPOSED Route:
1) Braside to Southland.
2) Southland over Deerfoot, cross over and onto the path, over the river on the pedestrian bridge.
3) A quick right, then follow the pathway to the school (Riverbend Community Assoc.).
4) Straight North on 18ST SE, over GLenmore, up the hill, over to 18A St, right on Millican Rd, down the hill.
5) Bike path on West side of Ogden Rd, up over stuff on the new 50th Ave bridge, then a quick right under it to get on the pathway on the West side of the canal.
6) Follow the canal, going under 17th Ave SE and get onto the sidewalk on the NOrth side of 17th ave to get across the canal, immediately hook up to the pathway heading North.
7) Cut through Max Bell Arena (on the south side) and end up at Barlow where the East bound traffic from Memorial meets up with Barlow.
8) Take Barlow North till I hit Centre Ave. Turn right and up the short hill, take a left on 28th St. and head North till I get to my destination.

PROPOSED Return:
- Basically the same except when I get close to home along Southland, when I'm at Haddon Road, cut across to the Sidewalk on the left hand side and ride it up (cause I'll be going "fatass" slow). But I'll slowly get back up past 14th where I can duck into back streets.

CONCERNS:
1) It has been years since I've ridden this and I think the ride along Southland is the only real concern. When I did it in the past it was 15+ years ago (less traffic and a better engine in the bike back then).
2) I'm even more concerned about attempting this in the winter cause I think parts of the path won't be plowed and I'm not sure I want to ride SOuthland and take up an entire lane with the crappy weather we've had. As I said, less traffic before and I WILL filter to the front.

Thanks.

Anyone have any comments?
