Good day fellow cyclists!

I'm a new rider and I'm keen to begin commuting (most of the way) in the spring. I've been trying to sort out a route to get from the pathway by the river in Scenic Acres to the Calgary Farmers Market in the Currie Barracks just off Flanders Ave.
Here's the deal: I live in Royal Oak, and I don't really feel confident riding down Stoney Trail to the pathway system (or am I eager to bike back up that hill after a long day's work - shout-out to those that do!) so I'm planning on driving down to the parking lot across from Bowness and starting from there. I figure I'll take the pathway along the river to the steep hill just before Crowchild bridge, then along the road to 26st SW, to 26 Ave, to 20 st, to Moreuil (?) Rd, into Flanders Ave. It would be a great help if anyone knows of a better route, and possibly how long you think that should take?
