We designed and built bike racks for our bikes swaps, and never knew how popular they would be for City festival events. We paid for the racks out of pocket, which is the same place we get our funds for the swaps - our life savings. Each swap costs us ~$8K to put on, but we still give back 50% of proceeds to local cycling groups. Cyclepalooza, Good Life and BikeCalgary are the groups that got some of the cash from the 2012 Calgary bike swap.
We're not business majors, just a kind couple who believe in cycling. To sandpaper the thief a bit more, I have MS, diagnosed in 1980, but have been a bike commuter for over 45 years, your dishonesty has impacted us in more than one way.
We loaned our racks to Sled Island, and had one entire rack stolen. Takes some nerve to steal a 10' bike rack. Well, you ripped us off, and you tarnished Sled Island.
If anyone sees an orange bike rack, it belongs to Alberta bike swap, NOT the thief.
For shame, that was cruel.
