A couple of years ago I read a post regarding an urban ride in Calgary that circumnavigated the city climbing all the major hills in town. There was a route map associated with this event. Can anyone point me in the right direction to this old post?

The first (and only) organized ride saw 25 people show up to challenge themselves. 8 finished. Here is the link back to the conversation here - http://www.bikecalgary.org/?q=node/1192

2nd Edition

Any chance of enough interest for a 2nd Edition? 25 folks is pretty stellar actually. Might be challenging with that many people but if an appropriate day and time is chosen we should be able to avoid heavier traffic. Wish I could say the same for the snowfall predictions.
Assuming it works w/ my schedule I'd certainly be interested in having a tour with some other like minded folks. Perhaps with the approach of trying to keep it a group ride (ie on the hills you're on your own, but regather at the top of each hill or at regular intervals).
I'd do it again

especially if it landed on a perfect spring day like last time.
good chance it will happen again

james at campione indicated he may run it as part of cyclepalooza - perhaps on wed june 22.
fyi - the first ride was treated as a group with a regrouping at cadence coffee in bowness and people (generally) taking it easy. because the route is so hard it is almost impossible to keep it togther so it really becomes the riders responsibility to stay togther if they want...
Sounds interesting

In the meantime, for those looking to get their fix of the Calgary equivalent of the spring classics, the Prairie Roubaix is being run next weekend.

Thanks for the quick reply. Will watch for future posts regarding a "De Ronde" group ride. Did the Prairie Roubaix last year and would recomend it to all as it was a blast.

You hill climbing masochists are a crazy bunch! My legs ache just LOOKING at the vertical plot of that route.
Now here is MY kind of cross-city cycle touring:

That's great. A fine mixture of the great outdoors, pedalling and beer!
