I rode to Bragg Creek and back today. The shoulders of Glenmore/Hwy 8 are coated in gravel and who-knows-what up until you reach the city limits. As soon as you pass that threshold, it's like a magic wand has erased all the gravel and debris from the shoulder, all the way to Bragg Creek. There are one or two spots by the dirt roads where there's a little bit, but it's pretty smooth otherwise. Hopefully the other road routes just outside of Calgary have been swept as well.
I talked to a Conservation Officer who works out of the Elbow station, and he said that the shoulder is probably swept all the way out to the winter gate on Hwy 66!
