A common route for pedestrians & cyclists crosses Shaganappi road from neighbourhood that's above Montgomery (don't know the name) over to the AB Children's Hospital. I think it's only a mattr of time before someone gets seriously injured there. I've had some close calls myself no matter how careful I've been. I've also witnessed a number of close calls as well.

There are plans for a ped bridge there, but I don't know if anything will happen anytime soon. It was funny a couple years back when the University and city would constantly repair the fences, only to have them cut open again the next morning. The understanding I have from some of my neighbours is that the University isn't on side with putting in a bridge.
By the way, Montgomery extends to 32nd ave.

Here, read this if you're interested in this area. Basically, and this is if I understood this correctly, the city wants the province to downgrade Shaganappi Trail from a regional to a local road (or some such unintelligible distinction) in order to permit a crosswalk instead of a ped crossing at that location.

...in the short term. People aren't going to stop using that, might as well make it easier.
