The website, as you can tell, has been upgraded yet again. This was necessary in order to prepare for the roll out of some added features and improvements which we've got planned, and also because the stock design of the old website has become really dated. This was a major upgrade requiring a host of conversions of the content database. Hopefully nothing got lost or broken. Please let me know here if you do notice something hat doesn't work anymore, that's disappeared, that you would like to have/see, or that you want changed.
There were two things I unfortunately had to turn off for the time being at least: avatar images and the ability to directly add images to posts and comments.

Thanks Richard!

I love the clean and sleek look. Thanks Richard -- I know you put a lot of work into maintaining the website and forums, and that it is a lot of work. Much appreciated!
Like the format

Love the new look! Will take some re-adjustments getting used to navigation on the right hand side, but that will come with time. Great job on the redesign!
Turning over new leaf

Congrats. on another fresh new look.
Have the forum topic areas been consolidated abit? Would suggest pathways be merged with pathways and bike route changes, incidends/accidents with hall of shame.
Too much category granularity inhibits even wanting to check out individual categories, etc. Best clues would be to see categories that seldom have posts...to be merged with another related topic and rename under a bigger category name.
There's no automatic way to

There's no automatic way to combine forums, so someone will have to go into the database and directly "move things around."
But let's continue the discussion you started here:
http://bikecalgary.org/node/2480
and think about which forum categories should be merged and which other ones.
Love it!

Looks more like a website and less like a forum (although the forum is a big part of Bike Calgary). Great job!
Looks Incredible! great work!

I definitely think this will be more appealing to the general public. You’ve done a completely outstanding job, Richard!

Overall very good. I found the header/logo uses more screen than I can afford. But I adblock'd it and all is well.
Where is the recent posts list?
Submitted by winterrider on
All of a sudden (two days ago maybe?) I no longer have the list of recent posts in the sidebar. This was my main way of keeping tabs on recent posts as you could click on them and it took me straight to the posts.
Where did it go? Is it a user setting or has it been disabled?

I also relied on the "Recent Posts" to keep current.

It's called 'Recent Content' and it's on the right hand side??? You need to login for it to work.

Recent Content List
Submitted by Richard Z on
When you're logged in, you have a little menu on the right: "New Content" takes you to
http://bikecalgary.org/tracker
which is a hand list of all content by last update/comment.
New and active forum topics are still provided in the sidebar.
Does anyone really want a list of recent comments? I've usually found the comment titles to be less than informative, but I can look into provideding a page that lists them which you can bookmark.
It will suffice
Submitted by winterrider on
But the recent comments list was really nice. Without having to go anywhere you get a quick list of all recent comments, and the links take you straight to them to see what's going on.
It was a very nice feature.
I find..

I find that the only thing I look at when I come here is the "New Content" tab. Nothing more. fyi
