Another tall bike for some other glandular freak here to purchase! I'm moving overseas in under two weeks, so I need to sell this thing FAST. I had originally planned to sell this to a coworker, but the post-holiday wallet stress became an issue for him.
This Trek 1000 was purchased in the Seattle area in 2005, and was converted to a fixed gear by the fine people at Campione Cycles here in Calgary in 2006. It runs at about 72 gear inches, I've not yet found a hill in Calgary that the gearing was too high to handle. The vertical dropout issue is solved with a White Industries ENO hub. Best bike-related invention EVER. It's a flip-flop hub, so you could toss a singlespeed freewhile cog on the other side if you so desired.
It's got about 5000 miles (not km) on it, but hasn't been involved in any major crashes, so the frame is still in fantastic condition. The front tire is going to need replacing before too long, and the front hub has never been serviced, so it'll probably need some TLC in the near future as well. Other than that, the entire bike is in great shape, it's nice and light, and I'll include the bike computer and water bottle cages if you want them.
Makes a great 3-season commuter bike, and would be a good way to introduce yourself to fixie riding on the cheap. Also comes complete with Shimano 520 SPD pedals.
$200 or best offer walks away with it.
This is the best photo I have at the moment, if you want to see more I can go snap some.
