Dear volunteer pedestrian and cyclist models of the past and future,

We need you!

A pedestrian and cyclist photo shoot has been scheduled for the morning of Wednesday March 11 and Thursday March 19. The purpose of the photo shoot is to show Calgarians walking and cycling for transportation, even in winter weather.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact me at this email address or cell phone 403-268-1158. Please wear bright or patterned outerwear, avoiding black, dark blue or white coats as much as possible!

The potential schedule for Wednesday March 11 is as follows:

9am to 10:30am
8 Street SW rail underpass downtown: pedestrians in business attire, some with bags, with the rail bridge as the background.

11 am to 12:30pm
Bike lane on 9A Street NW west of the LRT tracks (near Sunnyside Safeway): female cyclist in business attire. On a day of adverse weather, casual attire is OK.

A second photo shoot has been schedule for the morning of Thursday March 19

The potential schedule is as follows:

9am to 10:30am
Ogden Road south of Blackfoot Trail SE, east or west side sidewalk: pedestrians in casual attire (appropriate for working in the area- jeans, boots) with lunch bags (from home or takeout), or shopping bags (there is a Rona on the west side).

11am to 12:30pm
Ramsay Elementary School at Spiller Road at 23 Av SE: a child walking to school with a backpack; could be with an adult in business attire.
