On 19th street and 5th avenue NW, the City of Calgary has repainted some of the bike symbols and road markings on the on street routes. (painted in a rather lackadaisical manner I might add) They were wearing badly even after only a year and could barely be seen anymore. Probably the toxic sludge used all winter to melt the ice.
Right in that neighborhood almost at the intersection of 19th and Kensington there is a cafe - (Central Blends - 203 19 Street NW), who regularly have art exhibits. This time's resident artwork include a few vintage bike photos!
Great coffee and homemade muffin, light lunches and a quasi atmosphere. Might be a good destination trip (No I don't own or work at the cafe, I'm just sayin')
