Are you interested in organizing a "Jane's Walk on wheels"? Please read this for more information on Jane's Walks. If you have an idea that would lend itself to a Jane's Walk on a bike (e.g., tour around Calgary's bridges, history of some old buildings, etc.), or would like to organize such a "Jane's ride": contact Julie Black ASAP - the deadline for submission is March 23!!
Jane’s Walk is a global weekend of free neighbourhood walking tours honouring the legacy of urbanist writer Jane Jacobs, May 5 & 6, 2012. Anyone who wants to spark good conversation and has insights and stories to share about life in our neighbourhoods. Send in your Jane’s Walk Leader Form 2012 to register your Jane’s Walk. Due by March 23.
Or call (403-802-7720) or email Julie Black at the Calgary Foundation (jblack@thecalgaryfoundation.org) to discuss your idea first.
As the name suggests, Jane's Walks are usually done on foot. For a bike ride as part of 2012 Jane's Walk, you'd need stops that are further apart to make cycling worthwhile. Liability insurance is provided by the Jane's Walk organizers.
