Online Survey (April 23rd to May 4th, 2012)
Transportation Planning is conducting a long-term transportation corridor study for Macleod Trail from 25th Ave S to Anderson Road S. An online survey is available at www.calgary.ca/macleod for citizens to provide feedback on the corridor and help identify priority issues. This section of Macleod Trail is classified as and Urban Boulevard and identified as a primary transit, cycling and HOV route as per the 2009 Calgary Transportation Plan. The study will identify transportation requirements for intensification into an Urban Corridor with retail, office and mixed-use residential. Community access, cycling, transit, roadway operations and safety along this section of Macleod Trail will also be considered.

I really hope they do something decent with Macleod, it's such a scar in the landscape.

Could anything be done, short of nuking it and starting over? Tom Babin discusses the issue:

Elbow

It really is a shame that something like this was not done prior to the city spending a zillion dollars upgrading Elbow Drive. If they had seperate bike lanes in both directions on Elbow, feeders could get the traffic down to Macleod and back. Elbow would make for quick AND scenic bike traffic.
Oh Well, did my survey.
