Mount Royal University is hosting its third annual Bike to Campus Day on Thursday, May 10. Arrival zones will be set up at East Gate and West Gate between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to provide free refreshments and bike-themed giveaways to anyone who cycles to Mount Royal. As well, The Good Life Community Bike Shop will be offering free bike tune-ups at West Gate.
Non-cyclists are also welcome to drop by to learn about Mount Royal’s cycling programs or receive advice on how to start commuting by bike. Everyone will have the chance to win draw prizes.
Brought to you by MRU Parking and Transportation Services in partnership with Mount Royal Recreation, the Mount Royal BookStore and the Students’ Association of Mount Royal University, Bike to Campus Day was inspired by the City of Calgary’s Bike to Work Day, which showcases cycling as a healthy, efficient, convenient, low-cost means of transportation that also reduces traffic congestion and pollution.
