A slow ride to honour women cyclists, empower women in cycling and encourage positive social change. Women, men, families and kids are welcome to come out and support women in cycling.
We will meet at BikeBike bike shop at 5pm. From there, we’ll follow quiet side streetsand designated bike lanes to the Bow River Pathway and head east. We’ll cross the new Peace Bridge, Prince’s Island and end in East Village. The ride is about 5km one way, we’ll take it easy and plan for about an hour to get there. If the weather is nice feel free to bring a frisbee or a picnic and hang out in celebration of women!
Dress for the weather and remember your lights (just in case).

I totally want to join this ride! But the story of my life is a conflicting committment, one that I can't change - me sad.
Why is ride @5:00pm on a weekend day?

I applaud that this ride is being organized. But why is this ride starting @5:00pm? This is on a Sunday. So why not at least start it early afternoon or at @11.00 am? Please think through this, people might want to socialize afterwards. Then not be bothered cycling in the dark if they are not comfortable..even with bike lights. Life takes on a different dimension when towing kids around ..
I was part the organizing committee for Women on Wheels in Toronto for 5 years. It was to encourage women to cycle..no, not racing. We had all sorts of rides on weekends. But they always began in the morning (on a Sun.) ranging from 30 km. to 60 km. Included a stopover for snack, etc.
Oh, I'd like to do this ride.

Oh, I'd like to do this ride. Meeting at Bike Bike on a Sunday even though it will be closed, though?
