Update:
- The pedestrian overpass project is progressing and with the attached alignment design, there are four proposed bridge concepts from the consultant
- Your ranking wil be one element of the overall evaluation criteria, which will also include an evaluation by our design team on important criteria such as life-cycle cost (including durability, long term maintenance) capital cost, aesthetics, constructability and fit with future roadway plans
- Please view the overall alignment shown on the
site plans and the four proposed systems. Complete the online survey to make your first and second preferred selection for the design you’d most like to see in the community - Please make your selection by Tuesday, July 3, 2012.

Email from the City:
Transportation Infrastructure recently updated a project page for the proposed pedestrian overpass located at Shaganappi Trail near Crowchild Trail NW.
In March, a resident survey was conducted online to gather feedback about the project and how residents will use the bridge. Our survey results indicated that many people heard about the survey from your website. We have now updated the project website to include the survey results and inform residents of an upcoming information session.

A pedestrian bridge will be constructed over Shaganappi Trail between Crowchild Trail and Dalhousie Drive, connecting the communities of Dalhousie and Brentwood. This location was ranked as number one in the 2011 Pedestrian Overpass Priority Study (POPS).
Connection to a future regional pathway will be incorporated into the design and will provide a more direct connection to the Dalhousie LRT Station and direct access to Dalton Park for pedestrians and cyclists.
Construction of this bridge will begin in the fall of 2012 and is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2013.
Project updateIn March 2012 a survey regarding the design and construction of a new pedestrian overpass over Shaganappi Trail N.W. was advertised throughout the community and online to get resident feedback about the project. The survey results will help shape the design of the future bridge.
We will be hosting a project information session in the summer to share how the bridge design is progressing and how your feedback helped contribute to the project.
If you are interested in being updated on this project and the upcoming information session, please fill out the online form or call 3-1-1.
