Found this on kijiji - paid $75 for it.
It's a 1983 (I think) Nishiki Continental...

It's scratched and the decals are worn - heck, it's even spray-painted over in a few spots... But that doesn't hide the beauty that is Tange Champion No.2 tubing, Suntour Cyclone Mark-II derailleurs/shifters, gran-compe gc500 brakes... it's an amazing old find for $75 and should make my next century MUCH more enjoyable than my incredibly stiff cannondale...
I'm thrilled beyond belief to find this at such an affordable price!

I miss my old nishiki. Love the drillium on the crank and levers.
Beautiful find!

I have a Rocky Mountain bike that's based on that exact same frame - identical green too! It's a beauty and will serve you well... well into my 4th year with it and would be sad to part ways with my main ride.
Updated a few things on my old Nishiki...

So I decided the old randonneur bar was too narrow for my "widebody" shape... and so changes were in order... Here's what I ended up with:
It works MUCH better for me, more comfortable in every way. The new levers are not only aero, but are more comfortable when riding on the hoods and have more power and better return than the old diacompe levers.
I also installed kevlar-belted 700x28c tires front and back. Heavy... but what a nice, plush ride...
Rear Brake Cable

The routing of your rear brake cable is incorrect, well at least non standard. It needs to be longer to allow the bars to rotate to the left without causing strain on the housing. Mechanics go around the stem and leave a short loop to allow for this. Bike looks just like the one that someone left beside my house.
Enjoy the ride as "Steel is real".
