Here's a ride that might appeal to any of you that have a cross bike, or a road bike with at least 30mm wide tyres (since there are some unpaved sections) gmap-pedometer.com route 917444.
A couple of us are doing this 168-km ride Sunday May 6th, meeting at the Heartland in Bridgeland (1 Ave & 7A St NE) at 7:00 before heading to the ride start location at the Point McKay park 'n' ride lot. All are welcome to join in.
Note that we'll unsupported by vehicles, and a long way from "civilization" in some sections of the ride, so we'll be ensuring we have tire repair kits and assorted spare parts, along with extra clothing.

By popular demand (avoiding wet dirt and gravel), the route's been modified to look like this. Total distance is now 180 km.

Speaking of recumbent trikes, here's a picture of the rider on one, on the steepest and longest hill on Highway 66, the 300m climb from Elbow Falls to Rainy Pass. Does anyone know the rider, or the model of trike? (I'm surprised the picture is in focus, as I was moving at 50 km/h in the opposite direction when I snapped it).
