Here's a short video story from the New York Times on bike polo in NYC, played courier style, mostly on fixies. The style is a little different from that played by the CCCP (Calgary Cult of Cycle Polo) but not dissimilar to what the Calgary courier crowd employs in their parking-lot polo.

Thanks to Justin for the link to a story in pedalpushers.com about the nature of bike polo playing in NYC. Justin lived and worked there for a while before returning to Calgary.
Here in Calgary, there are two bike polo factions, one playing on grass fields and featuring a high-speed passing game, and the other playing in an asphalt parking lot and featuring a close-quarters game similar to that played in NYC. The grassy-field players meet Tuesday nights around 18:00 on the SE side of Queen Elizabeth School in West Hillhurst, while the asphalt lot players meet on Mondays around 18:00 at 14th & 14th SW. Both groups welcome new players.
