"Modifying" My Frame

Gooda,
I'm trying to find out whom in Calgary is a bike specialist that can suitably weld additional joints or tubes onto an aluminium framed Raleigh Bike. I've got a few "little enhancements" I'd like to make to make my bike into a truly UTILITY bike but haven't got a clue whom to talk to. I've carried this theme as far as I can without some professional advice.

I understand aluminium welding is difficult and depends on the quality of the bike in the first place ..... but I'd prefer to get some professional fittings done instead of just "drilling holes and home-cooking it " .... anyone out there got any idea of an expert I can talk to please ?

welding aluminium

it's not that it is so hard to weld aluminium that is the issue for you, it's the heat treating that is required after the welding is done. aluminium bike frames are TIG welded together but require heat treating post welding to be strong enough to ride.
I think that to add your enhancements, you will have to completely disassemble your bike, strip all the paint from the frame, have the enhancements added, heat treat, repaint or powdercoat, and reassemble. It would probably be more cost effective to just get a custom made frame or figure out a way to bolt on your additions.
