From May 16 to August 31, 2022, Calgary Transit is testing to see if bikes should be allowed on CTrains at all times, instead of being restricted to non-peak hours. As this test period is coming to a close, let Calgary Transit know what you think about this by visiting:

I’ve used this several times. It opens up the city and allows for much much quicker connections rather than walking or waiting for connecting bus. Only issue is that we need racks to hold the bikes in there otherwise we have to hold the bike while hanging on while ensuring we don’t touch someone. Great. Keep it going!
Thanks, Eric. Perhaps it’s worth sharing your concern with Calgary Transit as well. Feel free to share your feedback to them here: Online -> https://www.calgarytransit.com/content/transit/en/home/contact-us/submit-a-request-online.html -> Bikes on Transit. Phone call contact info with hours of operation/etc.: https://www.calgarytransit.com/content/transit/en/home/contact-us.html
I was pretty upset = my bike broke down at Tuscany Co-op bus stop on 12 mile coulee road and the bus driver refused to let me and my bike in – even though he knew i had to walk about a mile to the train station – meanwhile wheel chairs with 4 tires and way heavier – and baby carriages are allowed – that is hypocritical – and in the winter – people will freeze to death
Thanks for your comment, Francis. Sorry to hear about your situation. Perhaps it’s worth sharing that to Calgary Transit as well. I would like to see bikes always permitted on buses & trains if there is room. Should promote folding bikes & more bike parking & bike rentals. And better security at stations & bike parking.
Vince, thanks for your feedback. Hopefully, as per our blog post, you have shared your feedback to at the Calgary Transit’s feedback form so key personnel would know about this: https://questionpro.ca/a/TakeSurvey?tt=H94QNFkbZ1sGv91UtKBTlA%3D%3D . Thanks!
