Memorial Drive N.W. Lane Closures and Paving on 5th ST N.W. (June 15 – June 19)

As you may be aware, the City of Calgary has been constructing a lift station at 200 Memorial Dr. N.W., near the Calgary Curling Club, in order to improve localized flooding in Sunnyside and on Memorial Drive. However, due to unprecedented rainfall during the week of May 18 (the city received the highest amount of rainfall since 1942), construction work had to be postponed.

The paving works will commence on Monday June 15th (until June 19), with the closure of the adaptive pedestrian roadway between 5 ST NW and the CPA Lot 59 for this duration.

The city also notified us that “a portion of the site at 1724 Westmount BV N.W. is being used for equipment and material storage for the road and building tie-in works until early July. Crews will be utilizing this site between the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 pm.”

For more details on the construction plan, please see the attached notice from the city.
