The City of Calgary has informed us of a Pathway Detour from June 29th to July 3rd, resulting form the ongoing construction work at the Sunnyside Lift Station #1 at 200 Memorial Dr. N.W., near the Calgary Curling Club, in order to improve localized flooding in Sunnyside and on Memorial Drive.
The west pathway around the Calgary Curling Club will be closed starting June 29th to July 3rd, in order to install tie-ins to the building. A detour will be in place around the perimeter of the construction fencing in the CPA parking lot (see figure above).
The city has also requested that “For the safety of all pathway users, cyclists are asked to dismount from their bikes while following the detour, especially around the corners. “
Further, following the reinstatement of the west pathway, the east pathway will be closed the week of July 6th, with a detour provided along the west pathway.
The City also reminds us that that there will be temporary parking stall reductions in the CPA parking lot during construction (see image above). Parking stalls will be re-opened as the project nears completion this fall.
