Bike Mythbusters (Hosted at the Calgary Public Library and Presented by Alberta Bike Swap)

October 27, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Bike Mythbusters

Calgary Public Library has kindly offered Alberta Bike Swap a venue to bust cycling myths. The event will occur on a monthly basis starting Sunday, September 18th at Sage Hill Library. Next event is happening on Oct. 27, 2022 (Thursday) at the Village Square Library from 6:30-7:30PM. Please register here: Bike Mythbusters | Calgary Public Library (calgarylibrary.ca)

Some myths that will be discussed:

  • I know my child will grow into a bigger bike;
  • I want a car to see me, so I’ll cycle facing traffic;
  • I only need to lock my wheels;
  • I want to talk to my friends when I’m cycling – how many of us can ride next to each other?

Bring your questions about bikes, cycling infrastructure, bike safety, bike mechanics (Chris from Alberta Bike Swap is an engineer and can tell you how to repair your bike), and any other queries you have about cycling, cycling infrastructure, or rules of riding.  Please join if you have a group or a cause that you’d like to share to make this a community event.

Can’t make this event? This event is the first of 8 presentations in every quadrant of Calgary. Please register for the October 27 (Thursday) event at Village Square Library: https://calgarylibrary.ca/events-and-programs/programs/bike-mythbusters/
