Stay in your lane! Bike Calgary town hall in support of bike lanes (WAITLIST)
The Alberta government has made announcements about potential changes that could impact bike lanes in our communities. These potential changes might make it harder to create the safe and connected streets many of us want to see.
This feels like decisions about our streets, our safety, our kids and our neighborhoods are at risk of being taken away from the people who actually live and bike here.
But we’re not powerless. Let’s come together to show support for safe transportation options for everyone.
Bike Calgary is hosting a community town hall to bring people together and spark action:

We’re not looking for consensus at this event, we’re creating space for ideas, big or small, to take shape. You don’t need to be an expert to show up. You just need to care. This will be a space to:
- Learn what’s happening with the province’s proposals
- Share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences
- Brainstorm freely—no bad ideas, just possibilities
- Connect with neighbours and explore ways to respond
We care about our communities. We care about having real choices in how we get around. And when we come together, we can make sure our voices are heard and that all levels of government know how important bike lanes are!
Whether it’s writing letters to our elected officials, planning a fun ride, making spoke cards, reaching out to the media, or trying something new, we’re here to support ideas that grow from the ground up.
This isn’t just about bike lanes. It’s about making sure you and your neighbours have a say in shaping your own transportation future. Let’s come together, get creative, and take the first step!
