June is Bike Month (at least we hope our new Mayor will continue the tradition!) and that means it is time to get ready! Join Bike Calgary for a Kick-Off celebration on May 30th to prepare for all of the fun about to hit us for the month of June. This is an all ages free event open to anyone who celebrates joy through active modes of any shape. Bike on down and feel confident while your wheels are looked after by the fine folks with the Bike Calgary valet, enjoy a picnic in the grass, listen to some tunes, then turn your snacks into energy while you flit around our Art by Bike Urban Explorer Photo Scavenger Hunt. There is a craft table to bling up your bike (and you won’t believe what it is, but trust us that you won’t want to miss out!) and fun for the whole family.

Located off the 12th Ave Mobility lanes, you can walk, scoot, bike or C-train.
Rules for Scavenger Hunt
By participating in the Public Art Ride, participants acknowledge that they are responsible for
their own safety and actions throughout the event. Participants agree to obey all applicable
traffic laws, pathway regulations, and municipal bylaws while taking part.
The organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and affiliated organizations assume no liability for
injuries, accidents, loss, or damage incurred during participation in the event.
Prize Draw Entries
Participants may earn prize draw entries by taking selfies with featured public art installations
and sponsor locations during the event period.
Eligible photos must:
- Be taken between May 28 and May 30
- Clearly include both the participant and the featured artwork or sponsor location
- Be presented to event volunteers during the event to receive entry tickets
Entry Structure
- Sponsor locations: 1 entry per location (maximum: _)
- Featured public art installations along the main loop: 1 entry per artwork (maximum: 13)
- Bonus artworks along 12 Ave: 1 entry per artwork (maximum: 3)
- Bike mural: 1 entry
Special Multi-Art Locations
Some locations contain multiple artworks but count as a single entry:
- Memorial Park: 2 artworks = 1 entry
- Central Towers Galleria: 5 artworks = 1 entry
