Winter Bike Day 2026

What: Celebrate the joy of winter bike riding with us!
When: Saturday February 14, 2026
Where: At many Hot Spots around Calgary! Community meet-up and film screening at Alexandra Hall in the evening.

Winter Bike Day is back on Saturday February 14, 2026. Bring your valentine, find your valentine at the event, or heck, ask your bike (your true ride or die) to be your valentine and make it official! We won’t judge. We’ve got a film screening and community gathering at 6pm.

Hot spots have been posted and prizes announced! Details below!

Overview of the Day

Get on your bike and fill out your bingo cards for your chance to win some awesome prizes! Then gather with the community for a film screening, prize draw, and conversation.

Bike Bingo

You’ll have a Winter Bike Day bingo card that you can fill out at our various hot spots. Here’s how to play

  1. Check out our list of locations below and decide where you’ll start your day.
  2. Ride your bike to the first location to pick up your bingo card. Make sure they stamp it. You’re welcome to take your bike on transit, too—multi-modal is strongly encouraged!
  3. Visit as many places as you can collecting stamps before making your way to Alexandra Hall for the film screening and prize draw.

Make sure to save room for snacks and drinks—almost every hot spot is offering some kind of free giveaway or discount!

Note we’re using the term “bingo” lightly… Each stamped hot spot location gains you an extra entry in our prize draw, so no bonuses for entire rows, or an “X”, and so on.

We’re working with The Urban Explorer again this year to provide a map of the hot spots as well as some route ideas and stops of interest along the way. Note that not all hot spots have a provided route: it depends if there is a clearly safer route than options already provided by, for example, Google Maps. Route conditions can change quickly and unexpectedly, so make sure to judge the safety of these routes for yourself on the day of the ride as Bike Calgary does not actively monitor the conditions of these routes.

Check out their full post and map below.

Let us know if you like the idea of the additional points of interest, and how you’d like to see it expanded for our June BikeFest event.

“Bikes and Hearts” Event with Calgary Climate Hub

We’ve got a special partner event this year with the Calgary Climate Hub. Make sure you’ve set aside some time in your afternoon to visit their outdoor stage at River Hall on the west end of downtown along the Bow River.

They’ll be there from 12pm to 4:30pm, which gives you time to get over to Inglewood for our film screening!

Details on their website here.

Free Film Screening and Prize Draw

After bike bingo, come by Alexandra Hall for the ‘Bicicles’ film. Winners will also be announced here so you don’t want to miss this! You need to be present to win a prize. Same as last year, we’ll have a staffed bike valet across the street in Pollinator Park, so watch for the signs.

When: 5pm – 8pm, February 14, 2026 (movie at 6pm)
Where: Alexandra Dance Hall at 936 9 Ave SE (Inglewood)
Tickets:
FREE, but please register here so we have an idea of numbers
