Bike Calgary launches new Strategic Plan to promote a safer, more connected cycling city

Bike Calgary has released its new 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, setting out a clear roadmap to make cycling safer, more accessible, and a more practical part of everyday life in Calgary.

The plan establishes three strategic priorities: building a safe and connected cycling network, growing the cycling community, and building a stronger organization capable of delivering lasting impact. Together, these priorities will guide Bike Calgary’s advocacy, community engagement, partnerships, and organizational development over the next three years.

As Calgary continues to grow, the plan reinforces the importance of treating cycling as an integral part of the city’s transportation system. A connected network, reliable year-round maintenance, supportive public policy, and a welcoming cycling culture are all essential to making it easier for more people to choose a bicycle for everyday trips.
