June is bike fest in Calgary! We are kicking off the month on Saturday June 1st with our successful bike bingo format. We’ve done this in the past for Winter Bike Day, but this time we’re hoping for warmer weather! So grab your bike and plan to visit our partner Hot Spot locations. The more places you visit, the more entries you get in the prize giveaway.
How it works: Hot Spots and prizes
We have partnered with community associations, businesses, and non profits to create Hot Spots around the city for participants to visit. You can visit one or all of the Hot Spot locations that are listed below. Most (though not all) locations will have a bingo card to get you started. See the information below for more details. As you visit locations you can get your bingo card stamped and take part in other fun events and goodies along the way.
Whether you’ve visited one Hot Spot or all of them, submit a photo of your bingo card to bikefest.yyc@gmail.com by the end of the following day (June 2nd). Each stamp will get you one entry into a prize draw. Prizes include bike accessories, coffee, and various gift cards.
The bulk of the Hot Spots will be open between 10am and 4pm but be sure to confirm the location details on this page the day before the event so that you can plan your ride accordingly.
Community Association Events
This time, in addition to non profits and businesses around the city, we’ve also partnered with several Community Associations who are organizing their own big events on the day. So you can show up to get your bingo card stamped and hang around to enjoy live music, free bike tune ups, and more!
Check out their events here:

I am hoping there will be something in the NE…
Hi Jen, we were also hoping for participation from the NE! Unfortunately we did not get any replies from any of the locations we reached out to. Do you have any contacts in the area who we might be able to get in touch with for our next event?
Hi Nigel, no but I should make some! https://martindaleyyc.ca/home/contact-us/ responds to messages. Maybe it’s a good place to start? Genesis Centre is here and has events all the time. On a side note, I know Calgary was going to do some bike lane stuff up here eventually in Martindale…?
