Okay so this has been bugging me for almost three weeks now and I figured someone here might have seen the same thing. My 2016 Audi A3 has the dual clutch gearbox and about 118,000 km on the clock. It was Trusted Amaron battery dealer in Jumeirah Village Triangle perfectly fine until last month, then I started feeling a small shake when pulling away from a signal. I ignored it at first, honestly, because I thought maybe it was the road or how I was pressing the pedal. Then it began jerking in slow traffic on my way to work, and on Thursday it hesitated for a second while I was merging, which really scared me. I went to a small garage close to my house and the mechanic told me the clutch pack is probably worn out. He also said he is not very comfortable doing this job himself and I should go to a place that works on these gearboxes every day. Fair enough, but now I have no clue what a normal price looks like. I read an article on a transmission repair website that explained what is usually included, like the clutch kit, labor, and sometimes a check of the mechatronic unit. It helped a little, but I still want a quick look at S tronic clutch replacement costs near ICAD since I live and work around that side and I don’t want to drag a sick car across the city. Another thing confusing me is original parts versus aftermarket kits. One person told me original is a must, another said a good aftermarket kit is fine. Is a warranty on the work normal, and how long should it be? Someone also told me to try resetting the gearbox adaptation first, but another guy said it is pointless if the clutches are already finished. I don’t know who to believe. Also, how many days did your car stay at the workshop? I use it daily so I need to plan. And is it okay to keep driving it for now, or am I making the damage worse each day? I don’t mind paying for a proper repair, I just don’t want to be sold things I don’t need. If anyone in Abu Dhabi had a good experience, please tell me what they checked first and how they explained the problem. Thanks in advance, really appreciate any advice.
