Calgary Bylaw (and other related) clearly defines all the requirements for bicycle racks, storage etc. The problem is that it applies to the new construction, not to the so called “grandfathered” situations. So your next door 7/11 that exists there say since 1970 when there was almost no bikes around may not have anything to accommodate your bike.
The abovementioned option of requesting installation of a bike rack – mind you: on a city owned lands only – seems to be the only way around so far.
