Help guide the future of cycling in Calgary by joining the Bike Calgary Board of Directors

Bike Calgary is currently seeking nominations from those interested in joining our Board of Directors.

Our mission is to make Calgary a great place for all cyclists – present and future – through advocacy, education and community. So if you are interested in helping guide the direction of Bike Calgary, having your voice heard and making a difference for our cycling community, this is your chance!

The Bike Calgary Board of Directors is a dedicated working board that meets regularly both in-person and virtually, in addition to participating in local events. Previous board experience is not required but is appreciated, and previous volunteer experience with Bike Calgary is considered an asset.

We are working to reduce barriers to participation in active transportation, in advocacy and within our organizational structure. We encourage nominations from members of groups who face historical and/or current barriers to equity. We are looking to build representation from all the parts of our community – geographically and demographically.

At least two spots on the Board will be open for election. Skills and experience we are seeking include: finance/accounting, board governance, communications/marketing, volunteer recruitment/management, event planning, advocacy, revenue generation/sales, and leadership.

If you are interested in helping build a better cycling community through collaboration, please submit your nomination via this form by October 31: 2023 Board Nomination Form

A panel of volunteers and Bike Calgary Board members will review responses for a short list of nominees. Elections will take place at the Bike Calgary 2023 Annual General Meeting on November 7, 2023. This AGM will be held in-person this year at the CommunityWise Resource Centre beginning at 7 p.m. Those seeking nomination are encouraged to attend the AGM to introduce themselves prior to the vote.
