my favorite point to cross 22X and Stoney Trail is 52 Street SE.
no problem at all.
I ride SE a lot.
Calgary infastructure is falling apart as we speak.
mid of summer and no any major asphalt work? where?
cracks all over pathways.
simply put I love riding on less than 10 years old whatever asphalt.what some riders cannot get it,
or not observant enough….
asphalt on pathways is NOT as even/smooth as on streets
plowing leaves layers of snow which of course turn into ice later.
it seems Calgary Parks has very poor standards if it comes to snow clearing.
in English “clearing” means removing snow down to black asphalt, shaving snow and leaving layers of snow on pathway is a joke,

Calgary Parks should require equipment /BRUSH/ from contractor.
well like with everything in the city – no complains, no problems.
make a pictures on your cellphone, go to city report web site , attach pictures to your complain.if you dont feel comfortable to call 311 you can report on CofCalgary web site.
and include pictures.
I got response from Calgary Parks supervisor,it was last year.
Seems they cannot get it
Calgary Parks must have requirment from contractor, simple like that: brush
simply pathway is so uneven asphalt so contractor leaves layer of snow and you know what next, right?I would also love to see more posts on BikeCalgary.
I think main subject this time of year should be pathways conditions.
Southland pathway next to off-leash area had been covered with layer of snow turning into ice sheets.
The problem is:
contractor use plow instead of brush.
sidewalks are typically brushed NOT plowed.
plowing leaves layers of snow which next turns into ice sheets.
how many people bother to report to 311 or on Internet reporting?
few bother.
result is contractor and Calgary Parks do what they want.
it is so hard to understand? – you brush to black asphalt on first snowfall .how was it paved?
Quality of paving job on pathways is sometimes so shoddy in Calgary.
simple – why it is not as smooth as street paving?????
why City Of Calgary pays contractor for shoddy jobs from our taxes?
I already complained to 311 with pictures of Quarry Park by the river bumpy 1 year old path.
