I have a few hills to go up and down on my way to work/back home and for the last few years I’ve really appreciated the Nokian Hakkapeliitta as much as I hate trying to spell them (I copied the name from the web lol).
I use them on my cross bike (40mm x 700cc), but I have to say that all this talk of studded tires depresses me that I’ll have to mount them soon and take some of the joy out of riding with each pedal stroke! But I’m hoping we won’t have to mount them for good for at least another month or two…come on fall weather come back!
The ride in from Signal Hill >> path along the West LRT line >> through Westbrook Mall >> 12 Ave next to Bow Trail >> down to the river >> along the south side to downtown was in amazing shape this morning.
Maybe 5% of the route had little skiffs of ice and any ice ridges around intersections etc, were not too large and manageable with the summer tires! Here’s hoping we don’t get any more snow!
