Sunny. Warm. A little windy. Airport Trail pathway mostly bare with water puddles that will freeze at night.
Summer tires back on the Revel. So easy to pedal compared to winter tires. Oh, yes. Keeping winter tires on some bikes until end of May is a safe bet.
We may have to start buying high powered ebikes to outrun them! LOL.
What idiots decided to make this speeding law anyway when pickups can speed on pathways which were never designed to support that kind of weight? What about the benches near Laycock Park that were mowed down by some whack job, then cut off and never replaced?
Crimes are also committed by City Hall when they can be grossly negligent for building and not maintaining pathways and then making excessive cash grab fines for anyone using pathways for commuting. Yes, let’s just enforce pathways as being toys and making them useless for commuting, especially when no attempt is made to drain the Memorial Lake and other seasonal lakes on the pathway system.
Two years ago some nutcase graded a pathway through a pond and if I hadn’t mentioned it, the city would have paved it through 3 feet of water!
The dreadful and dangerous conditions of pathways this winter and Calgary’s ABSOLUTE CONTEMPT at taking any responsibility for damages and injuries incurred means there is no legal recourse for any injuries. One way or another the city pays for causing injury and damage. Is it our only recourse to cut down signs and recycle the metal to pay the victims?
Make prejudiced laws to target a minority and we may all have to become criminals to get justice. Seems like the road Calgary wants to go down.
Yes. Pathways have been very dangerous this winter. Has anyone has been successful suing the city for pathway liability? There needs to finally be some accountability in Calgary. Excuses For crappy pathway plowing and ice swamps should not be the norm.
